Walking under a ladder..... Opening an umbrella indoors..... Friday the 13th..... Black Cat..... Madden Curse....... Deandre Hopkins.....

Alllllllll these things are omens of bad luck. Don't believe me? Ask Patrick Mahomes how his season is going. The Chiefs are tied for the bottom of their division and needed to squeak out a win against a banged up New York Giants to get to .500. On top of that Mahomes has already thrown 10 interceptions and has a QBR rating of 56.7. Last year's numbers? Mahomes had 6 interceptions and a QBR of 78.1... at the end of the season. And you are going to tell me the Madden Curse isn't real?

Hopkins was picked up by Aaron Rodgers Blows Llamas - and their season quickly fell apart. In 3 of the next 4 weeks ARBL failed to break 90 points. We are talking about a team that had already won the belt and eclipse 130 multiple times in the season. ARBL went on to miss the playoffs.... thanks a lot Hopkins!

Some look at the trade that happened between The Fortune Cockies and Church Vans and look at the lopsidedness of the trade. However, since the trade Hopkins has been outscored by Pittman 26.9 to 51.4 points - that doesn't even include Marc Andrews. Also, since the trade TFC has lost two straight weeks and lost Derrick Henry. 

Is Hopkins the plague of fantasy football????

Dixie Normous (2-6) v Teardrop TD's (3-5)

This was a much needed win for Teardrops - and to think that teams that are at 3-5 are well within the mix to make the playoffs. At one point this team was one of the last to be fighting for a win - now they are fighting for a playoff spot. Hello Michael Carter - what a pickup he has been for TD's. The teams leading scorer and on top of that the Jets don't look completely awful when he is the focal point of the offense. Pair him up with Lamb/Jackson and a healthy Chubb and this team could make some serious noise down the stretch.

The Fortune Cockies (5-3) v PEN15 Wrinkle (4-4)

Deandre Hopkins. Black Plague. F*ck Me.

The J-Bones (3-5) v Gruden's Emails* (6-2)

This matchup was fun to watch and Stafford and Kupp lit up the Texans while they are putting the pedal to the floor in the first three quarters. Both ended up with 24 points and cancelled each other out. Henderson and Mixon both pretty much cancelled each other out as well. The issue for The J-Bones was the lack of depth and Emails was able to pull away with so many consistent scorers in the lineup. Thielen had a good game and even the Panthers DEF and Bullock (kicker) were able to surpass the double digit mark. Gruden's Email is now tied for the top of the league and will be looking to build on this big win.

Aaron Rodgers Blows Llamas*** (4-4) v Bluffton Backup Backups (4-4)

Mr. Boom-or-Bust aka ARBL had a rough go for the week because there was no real production outside of Hill and Beasley. To think, Sanders played and still scored zero points. On the flip side, BBB did not even have that great of a week... playing Prescott who was a late scratch. But Godwin and Cooks and the rest of the crew did enough to get the win against a team that struggled to score this week. ARBL is going to need a few more big weeks from the Chiefs duo and hope that they can hang around until players return from their injuries.

DK Country* (3-5) v Hoosier Daddy?* (5-3)

Hoosier Daddy finally had the week that it has been waiting for. Securing a huuuuuge win and getting dat belt babay!! Cooper locked up the belt victory with a big-time performance in MNF. On top of that Ekeler and Allen had a tremendous showing this week. On the flip side, things started off extremely poorly for Murray with a terrible performance against a below average secondary. It is wild to not that DK had three players score more than 20 points and still barely surpassed the 100 point mark for the week.

What is worse?

A) Your favorite NFL team taking their first loss of the season (Cardinals)?

B) You losing to a fantasy team that is 1-6?

C) Your favorite NFL team taking their first lass of the season and you losing a fantasy that is 1-6 and happens to consist on the team that knocked off your favorite?

C. The answer is C.

Church Vans (3-5) v Hernandez Hit Men* (6-2)

Hernandez Hit Men is one of those teams that has lucked into their success. Samuel happened to be the wide receiver that exploded onto the scene this year - lucky pick. Patterson is the focal point of the Atlanta Falcons offense - lucky to lose the first week and pick him up. Mitchell.... lucky to pick him as well from the waiver wire. When someone gets this lucky, is it luck or skill? There can be a combination of both. HHM has distinguished themselves as the team to beat thus far in the league. Church Vans will be facing the same issue they faced all season long... running back depth. Pittman is becoming a clearcut WR1 and the Chiefs are going to fix their issues soon enough. Other than that, it is going to be running backs with the big question marks moving forward.
