We all understand that after adding this video to the blog - there is good chance that somehow this will end up restricted on many security accounts and more than likely no one will be able to read it.... oh well - it is totally worth it.
So far, after W4 in the season (quarter 1 of the season), we still have two undefeated teams and two teams that have yet to notch one in the win column. What will happen first - both undefeated teams will lose or both "defeated" teams will win?
We also have very clear front runner for Fantasy Football MVP... Alvin Kamara. Steady Diet can thank that man for his 35 points a week average.
My early front runner for steal of the draft.... Matt Breida. Breida was drafted 190th overall in the league and for the first three weeks of the season he was the leading rusher in the NFL. He is now ranked 3rd in rushing yards - this is what I would consider a major steal! Congrats on the insight Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood.
My early front runner for bust of the draft.... David Johnson. This is excluding any type of injury/holdout - here's lookin' at you Le'veon Bell. Johnson is apart of an awful Arizona offense, and it is not looking like they will get much better as they transition to their rookie quarterback. Johnson was drafted 3rd overall and is currently ranked 66th overall. Bummer for I AM STUPID - too bad he only had mediocre wide receivers to make up for this!
My early front runner for number one team in the league..... Hernandez Hit Men. This team has multiple top running backs and some guy named Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. Hernandez Hit Men is undefeated and looks to remain that way with McCaffrey already done with his bye week.
Let's move past these individual awards and onto the teams....
White Condomints (3-1) v Mike McCarthy is Gay (0-4)
If MMIG wants to get their first victory this week, he needs a good Thursday night showing from the New England Patriots. Brady, Hogan, and the Patriots defense all compete on Thursday. It is also very important for Thielen to keep his hot streak going - he has been the only consistent scorer for MMIG.
White Condomints has (arguably) the best wide receiver tandem in the league. He has a top five tight end, and a decent running back group. The big question: How is New Orleans going to incorporate Mark Ingram into the offense moving forward? If it is anything like last year, Ingram will be a vital component and get plenty of touches. As long as Tannehill doesn't throw up a goose egg again, WC should be fine this week - even if Tannehill scores zero, WC should be fin....
Prediction: White Condomints wins!
Hoosier Daddy (2-2) v Prible is my B**ch (2-2)
In a battle of two .500 teams, this is a crucial week. The loser of this matchup will drop below the cut line for the playoffs.
PIMB has an amazing wide receiver tandem - not to mention the third receiver at flex. Boyd is a player who has quietly put together a very nice season at receiver. He is currently the 18th ranked wide receiver - not bad for a player that was not on anyone's radar at the beginning of the season.
Gurley is a machine, and also a beneficiary of playing in one of the most explosive offense. However, after Gurley - Hoosier Daddy does not have much in terms of support. Aaron Jones has finally returned to the backfield in Green Bay, and soon he will take over the committee - will it be this week?
Prediction: Prible is my B**ch wins!
Team Dez Nuts (2-2) v The J-Bones (1-3)
I am slightly partial to a certain team in this match-up, why?
Andrew Luck - I drafted
Chris Thompson - Once on my team
JuJu Smith-Schuester - I drafted
Rob Gronkowski - Once on my team
Jaguars DST - I drafted
Ryan Succop - I drafted
Apparently, I like something about these players.
Prediction: Team Dez Nuts wins!
Hernandez Hit Men (4-0) v UrBlogIsWeak SucItAtkins (1-3)
Well, let me be the first to say - I am a fan of the new name "UrBlogIsWeak SucItAtkins." If only it didn't suck to write in this said "weak blog."
Ironically, SucItAtkins is probably one of the better teams at the bottom. Elliott is a great running back and has the ability to explode for huge weeks any given time. Rivers is the type of quarterback that is going to throw the ball 40+ times every week - which could result in three touchdowns or three interceptions, you just never know.
On the flip side, you have one of the top teams in the league - the front runner for best team (see top of blog). McCaffrey has already gone through his bye week and will no longer leave the starting lineup. Gordon is a top three back on any given week he is playing. The only question mark for this team is whether or not Hyde/Landry and the Browns offense overall can keep up this production. If there was a ever a week for an upset, it could be this week - with Mahomes matching up against Jacksonville. Although, it doesn't look like it will matter....
Prediction: Hernandez Hit Men
Robert 3-Woods (2-2) v Steady Diet (4-0)
Mr. 3-Woods is reeling from having a huge Thursday night start and failing to convert that night into a victory for the week. Steady Diet is riding high with the huge game from Kamara, yet again.
There are two possibilities in this matchup...
Steady Diet blows away Robert 3-Woods - this would be with the typical one player on his team booms during the week and he scores in the 140's.
Steady Diet wins a close battle - this would be with a few bust or average performances and his team scores in the low 120's
Either way, I really don't see Robert 3-Woods prevailing in the week - there is just too much firepower for Steady Diet.
Prediction: Steady Diet
Col. Erran Morad (0-4) v Sagging TD's (1-3)
This was a candidate for 'Matchup of the Week' - not because these two teams are near the top, but because this is the battle for the worst team in the league (outside of Mike McCarthy is Gay).
Sagging TD's will eventually sub-out Godwin for one of his many options on the bench. This is going to be crucial because this matchup could result in a winner that scored less than 100 points - both of these teams are averaging 95 points or less.
Looking at the matchups, Roethlisberger and Brees could both have big weeks. Michel is probably the best option between all four running backs. D. Thomas is the best option out of all wide receiver options. Cook is the only saving grace between both teams.
In fact looking at this matchup - I am not sure you could form a super team between the two of them and still make the playoffs in the league. A little harsh? Probably. Deserved? Obviously.
Prediction: Sagging TD's wins!
Matchup of the Week
I AM STUPID (3-1) v Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood (3-1)
This is a matchup between two teams that are right on the precipice of greatness. The winner gives themselves a chance at winning their division, or possibly the league.
QB: Matt Ryan v Kirk Cousins
Ryan has the far better matchup this week. Ryan and the Falcon offense face-off against the Pittsburgh Steelers - and this could be a shootout. Cousins is no slouch, but in many cases the advantage should always go to the quarterback with the higher possibility of a shootout.
RB: Johnson/Lewis v Barkley/Breida
There is an obvious advantage to Barkley/Breida (see steal of the draft). Not only has Breida drastically outperformed his ranking, but Barkley has been the type of running back that is going to touch the ball - no matter how bad the New York offense looks. On the flip side, Johnson (see bust of the draft) is apart of a subpar offense. Lewis is a decent option at running back, however the Titans are more likely to hand the ball to Derrick Henry (the bigger back) when they are up in the second half. Clear advantage to Barkley/Breida
WR: Thomas/Diggs v Kupp/Rogers
I would like to be the first to say, I love the Rogers play! He is a sneaky play this week with Hilton out for the Indianapolis Colts. Last week, Rogers saw 13 targets and reeled in eight receptions. Oh yeah, and Kupp had a decent week. He also faces a Seattle defense that just lost their heart and soul (Earl Thomas). This will open the deep ball threat for Kupp and the LAR offense. *Diggs and Thomas are good.* Advantage Diggs/Thomas
TE: Reed v Njoku
Neither of these tight ends are named Kelce, Ertz, Kittle, Cook, or Gronk. Coin flip
Flex: Cooks v White
Cooks has the same opportunity that Kupp has this week against the Seattle defense. However, White has a very interesting matchup this week - Indianapolis Colts. In any given week I will always target running backs that are playing against the Indianapolis defense - there is always an opportunity for a top five performance. Advantage White
DST/K: Browns/Prater v Jets/Lambo
Who cares! We should, this matchup might actually come down to defense and kickers. Personally, I think the Jets defense do not have a good matchup. Denver has the ability to wear you down, and the Denver defense is good enough to keep the Jets offense off the field. The Browns have a tough division rival visiting - but that is the key word visiting. I give the advantage to Browns/Prater - all because the Browns defense (man, that feels so weird to write).
Prediction: I AM STUPID
Mwah
*I purposefully did not talk about these receivers to annoy the owner, what's up now sucka!!!
