Penn State and Alabama both lost - both were undefeated teams in the CFP. Given Alabama was playing LSU (also in the top 4) - but this is freakin' Roll Tide, Alabama - and they lost!!
In the NFL, of the top 10 passing yards performances - only one quarterback won... Jameis Winston.
There were 14 missed kicks - two of which directly equated to losses for their teams. Guess the Bears aren't the only ones with kicking troubles.
Micheal Vick 2.0 is currently playing for a team from Baltimore. Now, don't get me wrong Micheal Vick was an absolute freak - arcade game-esque. Lamar Jackson is not "arcade game-esque" - he is the video game. I am just hoping that he doesn't get blown up and deal with an injury that limits his ability to make defenders look lost.
On top of all that, we have been gifted with the news that NCAA players can use their likeness for endorsements and monetary purposes - WHICH MEANS THE RETURN OF NCAA FOOTBALL VIDEO GAMES!!!
Let's get to the results and be on the lookout for next week's predictions and the playoff outlook...
Matchup of the Week
Massive TD's* (5-5) v Dixie Normous (7-3)
Result: Massive TD's wins
Prediction: Massive TD's wins... RIGHT!!
Mystery Guest: Massive TD's wins... RIGHT!!
Wings of Dickarus* (8-2) v PEN15 Wrinkle* (6-4)
Put the league on notice... Wings of Dickarus is not a team to handled delicately! With 0 points from D. Johnson and a miscue on the defensive selection (left the Steelers on the bench with 22 points), they were still able to score 117 points - which would have placed them in the 5th in scoring this week. Wrinkle just didn't have it this week and it cost him a chance at locking up the 2nd seed. Wrinkle still has a good chance to win his division, but this would have really secured it. Instead, he has to wait it out a little longer and hope that Cooper can continue this hot streak.
Results: Wings of Dickarus wins
Prediction: Wings of Dickarus wins... RIGHT!!
Mystery Guest: PEN15 Wrinkle wins... WRONG!!
The J-Bones (3-7) v Bluffton Backup Backups (2-8)
In the "Battle of the Bottom," The J-Bones barely get by with a win. Neither team broke 100 points - but this was just a matter of who sucked less this week. It didn't help that one owner was gone on a "business trip" all week and didn't take out Brissett or Walker. This is normally the part where I go on a rant about being active and aware; but let's remember BBB took over a team that he didn't draft, still paid the entry fee, and then proceeded to get bullied by the rest of the league. I have a soft spot in my heart for Triple B - although they still suck and are out of the running for the playoffs!
Result: The J-Bones wins
Prediction: The J-Bones wins... RIGHT!!
Mystery Guest: The J-Bones wins... RIGHT!!
Biggus Dickus* (6-4) v Ankle Holster* (5-5)
What has happened to Biggus Dickus? Once thought to be a top team to contend with, but this week struggled to stay out of the all-time bottom five! Kupp and Erickson (cue: "Who the fook is that guy?") combined for 1.3 points. In a matchup were the winner doesn't even break 100 points, Ankle can thank his lucky stars and run with the victory. No player in this matchup scored more than 20 points, but it was the consistency that prevailed for Ankle. The once dominant running back group looks lost and the future looks bleak for this team if Barkley can not return to last year's form.
Results: Ankle Holster wins
Prediction: Ankle Holster wins... RIGHT!!
Mystery Guest: Ankle Holster wins... RIGHT!!
Florida State Seminal Vesicle** (6-4) v Hoosier Daddy* (5-5)
Hoosier Daddy is another one of those teams that has the talent on paper to knock off a giant in the first round of the playoffs - and FSSV did not help the league by dropping the ball this week! FSSV had another good week from RUN CMC. Moore, CMC Carolina counterpart had a big week - but other than that nobody else really stepped up. Hoosier Daddy has the frontrunner for MVP at quarterback and if Adams can get back to form - this team is dangerous. Not to mention - who would have thought that the Carolina receivers are actually worth having with K. Allen at the helm?
Results: Hoosier Daddy wins
Prediction: Hoosier Daddy wins... RIGHT!!
Mystery Guest: Florida State Seminal Vesicle wins... WRONG!!
....And Your Johnson (2-8) v Hernandez Hit Men* (4-6)
What do you do when you have one of the worst teams in the league and then you happen to face a team that has their best performance of the season? You pack it up and look forward basketball season! Johnson tried to play the stack play again - this time it looked much better than Cutler/Marshall. However, Mahomes got hurt throughout the season and Kelce never really was the dominant TE that everyone thought he would be. However, HHM had a huge week and the scary part about... it could be like this for rest of the season and if they squeak into the playoffs. Bell and Henry look like a top running back duo and Thomas is clearly one of the top WR with Brees back slinging the rock in New Orleans. The belt winner this week sends a message that he is not out of this race!
Result: Hernandez Hit Men wins
Prediction: Hernandez Hit Men wins... RIGHT!!
Mystery Guest: Hernandez Hit Men wins... RIGHT!! (and he gets another point for the belt prediction)
Aaron Rodgers Blows Llamas* (7-3) v The Back Hatch (4-6)
This was a huge win for one team and an even bigger loss for another team...
ARBL had big performances from Rudolph and Tate and that was pretty all that was needed (as long as nobody else put up absolute duds). Instead, let's focus on the issues for The Back Hatch. I first want to thank The Back Hatch for participating in this year's fantasy football league, his season is not completely done - but odds are not in his favor to make the playoffs. What is even more interesting... if you were to look at some of the top players for other teams - they were drafted by The Back Hatch. Hooper, Bell, J. Allen, Fournette, the list goes on! Usually one of the more active gm's in the league - this was not a good trading season for him. Even more so, why would a Browns fan start Hoyer over Mayfield? That may have been the move that ended it all - there are still three weeks to go, but some dominoes need to fall for The Back Hatch to twerk their way into the playoffs!
Results: Aaron Rodgers Blows Llamas wins!
Prediction: The Back Hatch wins... WRONG!!
Mystery Guest: The Back Hatch wins... WRONG!!
Season: 40-23, 1 correct belt prediction
Mystery Guest: 35-28, 3 correct belt predictions
