Week 4 Predicktions

There are currently three scenarios taking place...

A) At some point you have to look in the mirror and accept what you are...  a really sh*tty fantasy football team. I have one or two good players... but I need lightning to strike to win some games and start contending for a playoff spot. If not, I need to decide whether I am going down with the ship or if I need to trade away some pieces. The difficult part about trading away pieces is that you are going to have to trade one of your only good players to try and get something different in return.

B) I am the f*cking man... my fantasy team is rolling. I am undefeated and I found a few gems in the late rounds to really complete the lineup. I have avoided the injury onslaught and my team is looking like a tank just rolling over cars in a demolition derby. At this point, you wait for the bait to come to you - who is going to nibble at your team? You have players that you can trade away at a high point... you are in the driver's seat.

C) What should I do? Do I stay the course or do I trade away pieces? I am doing okay... but I am just beating the bad teams. I have great matchups and somehow teams suck against me. I know I am not scoring the most points... but I am winning. This is "sh*t or get off the pot" time. You hold the balance of the league. You are the connection between the cellar dwellers and the stallions. What you do now will dictate how the league plays out.

If you are curious, here is where I see the teams and the scenario they are facing...

"A" Teams: Heat Hicks, Bootay Pirates, Cocaine Cowboys, PEN15 Wrinkle, MAYEday

"B" Teams: The J-Bones 2.0, Connor's Stalions, Ertz when Eifert, Ankle Holster

"C" Teams: Love Hurts, The J-Bones, ARBL, Cleveland Streamers, Pendulous TD's

Matchup of the Week
The J-Bones (1-2) v The J-Bones 2.0* (3-0)

Who didn't see this MotW coming?
Matchup to Watch: Hubbard v Johnson... honestly, I did not think that a couple Carolina offensive players would be involved in the Matchup to Watch - but here we are. Dalton had this team looking like a bunch of pro-bowlers last week and these two are loving the new QB. Johnson had over 100 yards receiving and Hubbard had over 100 yards rushing... given, it was against a terrible Raiders teams - but this week they also get the Cincy defense. Cincy has not managed to stop anyone, this matchup looks to be a big one in the outcome of this MotW.
J-Bones Favor: The WR's on this team have good matchups this week - and they need to have big weeks if there is going to be any chance of an upset. Shaheed gets the division rival Atlanta - an underrated pass defense, but still not near the top of the league. Waddle has a good matchup against Tennessee - but you just never know without Tua if he is going to get his opportunities. Johnson was highlighted in the Matchup to Watch.
2.0 Favor: Kamara/Barkley... This tandem is currently the best in the league and there are a lot of people kicking themselves for not drafting either RB. Barkley was drafted 13th overall and the 7th RB off the board and Kamara was 41st overall and the 17th RB off the board. Nearly everyone had a chance at them, but instead the 1 and 2 overall RB are on the same team and they are tearing it up.

Predicktion: The J-Bones 2.0
Mystery Guest: The J-Bones 2.0

Heat Hicks (0-3) v ARBL (2-1)

Is there an upset brewing in the air?
Matchup to Watch: Dobbins v Odunze... honestly, there is not much that matches up in the matchup - but with Odunze finally having a big week and Dobbins finally having a down week - the FLEX position could determine the outcome. The winner of this matchup might determine the winner of the matchup overall. They both have great matchups for the week - Odunze has LAR and Dobbins has KC.
Heat Favor: Matchups... no player on Heat Hicks' team has a matchup that is against a top rated defense. If Heat Hicks is going to turn things around this season, it needs to be now. If they don't crack the 120 point mark... there may never be a time. There needs to be 10+ total touchdowns amongst the lineup and that could happen this week.
ARBL Favor: DEF and Kicker... Chicago's defense is already singlehandedly keeping them in games and they are averaging 12 fantasy points a week - which is huge for a defense. On top of that, they get a banged up LAR team whose number 1 option is Williams (RB) and best receiving option is the buy who was the number 3 (at best) receiver on the depth chart. Aubrey has been phenomenal this season - if he gets to his average (16) fantasy points... this is trouble for Heat Hicks.

Predicktion: Heat Abba Goad Hicks
Mystery Guest: Heat Abba Goad Hicks

MAYEday (1-2) v Connor's Stalions* (3-0)

Time to take the team name's literally...
Matchup to Watch: Jennings v Aiyuk... can we really expect another 40 point outburst from Jennings? I think not. However, it has seemed like Aiyuk has not been what was expected. Maybe the contract issues are looming still? Aiyuk has failed to break the 10 point mark and Jennings was the one who had the big game last week. It may not matter (thanks to the stacked lineup), but Aiyuk is due for a big week sometime soon.
MAYE Favor: Depth... there is not a single positional player that is projected less than 10 points (if Engram plays). There might be the same explosion that happened last week, but this team could break the 100 point mark again this week solely based on opportunity across the board. If this team wants to pull off the upset it needs to come in the form of consistent fantasy scoring throughout the lineup.
Stalions Favor: Washington... I was very against Jayden Daniels - but it might be time to flip the script. This week Washington faces Arizona - who has given up over 120+ rushing yards a game so far this season. That also included 2 rushing touchdowns to Josh Allen, a rushing touchdown to Kyren Williams, and a rushing touchdown to David Montgomery. This could be a big week for Daniels and Robinson Jr. - Washington is committed to running the ball.

Predicktion: Connor's Stalions
Mystery Guest: MAYEday

Bootay Pirates (0-3) v Love Hurts (1-2)

First win?
Matchup to Watch: Taylor v Williams... JT is clearly the best player for Indy's offense. He should touch the ball 20+ times a game, the only problem is that Indy is facing off against a very, very good Pitt defense. Still opportunity presents itself always for Taylor to have big games. Williams is the only player for LAR still left alive. He also should touch the ball 20+ times. The only problem, Williams if facing off against a Chicago defense that is playing very good football at the moment. Which RB will pull through this week?
Bootay Favor: QB... as of right now, nobody knows who is going to actually play QB for Green Bay. Love may come back, or he might sit another week. If Love does come back, how good will he be? On the flip side, Hurts is the guy for Philly. Hurts has not been great... yet. Last week, he threw for over 300 yards - but that only equated to 10 fantasy points. As a fantasy owner, you want Hurts running more often. This week he has Tampa Bay, who got torn up by Bo Nix and the pitiful Denver defense. This could be a huge favor Bootay Pirates.
Love Favor: Injuries... when you look at Love Hurts lineup - you don't see a lot of value outside of Williams and MHJ - but that might not be as bad as it looks. Williams will touch the ball 20+ times and MHJ should have a big week if Murray can realize the best passing option is actually the young gun on the outside. Moss might be able to help out a little - but this team needs big weeks from Williams and MHJ.

Predicktion: Bootay Pirates
Mystery Guest: Bootay Pirates

Cocaine Cowboys (0-3) v Ertz when Eifert (3-0)

Could it really be?
Matchup to Watch: Jackson v Murray... both QB's are known for their scrambling, but both QB's have a tough matchup. Jackson has the Bills mafia and Buffalo is rolling. Jackson has managed 80+ yards rushing and if he can get into the endzone - this could be a big win for Jackson. Murray has a tough Washington defense this week and he is going to need to scramble to stay alive. Zona is a team that is boom or bust with its offense... if Murray can get hot, this could be a very interesting matchup to keep an eye on.
Cocaine Favor: Depth... this is another team that has every positional play projected to score over 10 points, but not positional player projected to score over 20 points. If there is a chance at the upset, it would need to come in scoring through depth. There has not been a lot of big plays made from the players, but if they can stay consistent - there could be a chance.
Ertz Favor: WRs... I probably sound like a broken record for this team, but JJ and DK are playing great football with not-so-great QBs. You already know how I feel about JJ - best receiver in the league. If DK can have another big week, which definitely could happen against Detroit's secondary, this could be game over. It also helps that Jackson might be throwing the ball in Zay Flowers direction... who happens to be on Ertz's lineup.

Predicktion: Ertz when Eifert
Mystery Guest: Ertz when Eifert

Pendulous TD's (2-1) v Ankle Holster (2-1)

Matchup of the Week 2.0
Matchup to Watch: Hall v Achane... if I am being honest, this was going to be the actual Matchup of the Week (but how can you turn down J-Bones v J-Bones 2.0) and these two were a big reason for it. With the QB issues in Miami, Achane gets the ball... A LOT. He might be the 2nd fastest person in the league, the other is also in Miami. Hall was a top 3 RB going into the season and he is looking much more comfortable as Rodgers begins to get this offense rolling. If you remember back in Green Bay, Rodgers had no issues dumping the ball down to his RBs out of the backfield, now he has Hall.
TD's Favor: WRs... Nabers is amazing to watch. He reminds of OBJ... he is able to make every catch under the sun. Giants face off against Dallas in a big divisional battle... we will see if he likes the bright lights. JSN is a boom-or-bust player so far this season. He has 1 game where he caught 12 passes and then the other two weeks he had 5 combined catches. This week Seattle faces off against Detroit and it could fun seeing which receiver Geno decides to go to.
Ankle Favor: RBs... Ankle's team GM is adamant that his team has the best RB room - which might be correct, if you consider 3 RB's. Hall/Jacobs/Connors make a bulk of their points and will need to do it again this week. Hell, you could even throw in Allen as a pseudo running back and this team might get 5+ rushing touchdowns amongst them. If that happens, Ankle Holster is set to make a run at the top of their division.

Predicktion: Ankle Holster
Mystery Guest: Ankle Holster

Cleveland Streamers (1-2) v PEN15 Wrinkle (1-2)

Where will the points come from?
Matchup to Watch: London v Olave... these fantasy teams find themselves in the bottom 3 of points scored thus far this season. Two players who need to get things going would be London and Olave. Olave has average the most yards of separation among all WRs this season and now he gets to have his time against ATL's weak defense. On the flip side, ATL brought in Cousins to help with the offense, but he has yet to really get his big bodied receiver going. These two face-off and it would be fun if they both have big games at the same time.
Streamers Favor: TNF... there are three players playing in the TNF battle - Singletary/Dowdle/Lamb. If there can be close to 60 points scored between the three of them, I like Streamers chances. Lamb needs to have a big game, maybe a touchdown or two would help the cause. Singletary has the opportunities, touching the ball nearly 15 times a game - he needs to score this week.
Wrinkle Favor: 49ers... of all the players hurt on 49ers offense, none of them are on Wrinkle's team. Purdy might be banged up, but you have to think he is playing. Mason has been a terrific replacement for CMC and even though he doesn't have the receiving, he looks very comfortable running the ball. It also helps that the defense gets a struggling New England team this week.

Predicktion: Cleveland Streamers
Mystery Guest: Cleveland Streamers

As always, I wish everyone good luck - except for you, ARBL - may your entire lineup be forced to watch an entire WNBA game filled with layups, dribbling, passing, and more layups.

With Love
Commish
