Week 3 Predicktions

You know what my favorite thing is? People who complain about trade offers. In case you were unaware, you can do a variety of things with trade offers...

A) Accept: Obviously, the most desirable of all options.

B) Counter: The unique thing about countering... it doesn't have to involve the same people in the previous trade offer. It also keeps a conversation of player availability on each side. I may receive a trade offer from someone, then counter with new people for new people - I might include, "Bilal Powell is off the market currently." You begin to hopefully move towards common ground. Orrrrrr the counters move further away and you realize that there will be no deal made with this team at this time....

C) Decline: This is completely fine. Some people get mad, myself included. However, this at least says a couple things: I am not interested in trading at the moment.... The original trade offer is too far away from where I would like to be... I am active in the league and paying attention.

D) Let it sit and die: The most annoying of the options. The proper thing to do is at least respond, that we know you at least got it and pay attention to the league. I will be honest, this just recently happen to me - I truly did not see a trade offer and it say and died. The other owner said to me, "Nothing on my trade offer?"  I actually felt bad (yes, somewhere deep inside I do have the ability to have feelings). I hate that and I always try to at least respond.

Making trade offers is a good thing. It shows activity in the league and it shows that people are paying attention and conversating. Which is the idea behind the league - give us something to talk about. Let's be honest, we don't want to really talk about school and pedagogy and what not - we want to talk about sports and boobies.

Some people don't like trades, which is fine - their prerogative. I can just say this, I know that if I was stuck with my first girlfriend ever - I would hate my life. She was a terrible kisser and not really that enjoyable to hang out with. So I upgraded then upgraded again... then probably a few downgrades - but eventually you settle in on the right one. I got a good feeling, most teams are like my first girlfriend - terrible kissers. Go out and get you an upgrade...

Matchup of the Week
The J-Bones (1-1) v Llams (1-1)

Some people might be asking, "Why is this the matchup of the week?" Truthfully, there are not that many good matchups as it is... but with two teams sitting at .500 - it is dangerously important to try and get the win this week. Plus, both teams are in the same division and this will catapult one team up the standings in their division.

Matchup to Watch: Waddle v Hill... the biggest question of the season: Who is going to throw these guys the ball? It will be intriguing to see what happens with this offense and whether or not they are able to keep their big play receivers fed.
The J-Bones Favor: Defense/Kicker... oddly enough (if you look a little lower) - these teams have the same favor. Amongst these two teams, there is not a Defense or Kicker ranked lower than 4th. There also might not be a better feeling than having a defense that is lining up against a team that has only scored 1 offensive touchdown this season. LAC has a gift to face-off against Pittsburgh... if I was a betting man, I might take the under in this game. Moody gets the Rams - both teams are missing big-time playmakers which may force the coaches to take points when they can.
The Llams Favor: Defense/Kicker... yes... I hate typing this. It is sooooo odd to make this their favor. Hear me out, Brandon Aubrey is the second highest scoring player on Llams team. Yes, the KICKER is the 2nd highest. One might think this is a bad thing, but he is averaging 19 points a week. The Bears defense is only winning games because of their defense and this week they get an Indy offense that is still trying to find itself.

Predicktion: The J-Bones
Mystery Guest: The J-Bones

Connor's Stalions (2-0) v Heat Hicks (0-2)

Lopsided on paper, but that is why they play the games
Matchup to Watch: Bijan/Gesicki v Cook/Bowers... there were trade talks with these two teams, inevitably fizzled out - but there were talks. Bowers and Bijan were involved, it will be interesting to see how those player perform in a week when they face-off. On top of that, Cook is coming off a 3 touchdown week - if Hicks wants a chance, that can not happen again.
Stalions Favor: Pass catchers... Nico/ARSB/Bowers/Aiyuk are all projected to finish to finish near the top of their position this week. That is a huge benefit to have that many guys that should get close 50 combined targets. You would think that would equal multiple touchdowns in this core. ARSB needs to be healthy and cleared to play and this is a huuuuuge advantage for Stalions.
Hicks Favor: RBs... there are not many teams that this trio will not be the favor for Hicks, many because everywhere else is struggling. There was a thought was to go heavy on RB and hope you can hit on WRs (which has not happened). The trio is projected to score nearly 20 points and Robinson leads the way with 20 projected points - but he also has not reached the endzone yet... will this be the week? Needs to be.

Predicktion: Connor's Stalions
Mystery Guest: Connor's Stalions

Ankle Holster (1-1) v Bootay Pirates (0-2)

Will this be the week the ole' vet gets their win?
Matchup to Watch: Allen v Hurts... coming into the season both these QBs were in the top end of the MVP race. Allen has clearly pulled away from Hurts and is looking much stronger in terms of production. Hurts finally found his legs in week 2, but the Eagles lost. Will Philly move back towards keeping Hurts in the pocket? Will AJ Brown be back? If Hurts wants this matchup to stay close... he needs to run the ball close to 10 times.
Holster Favor: RBs... Hall/Jacobs/Connor make a deadly trio. Jacobs should realistically touch the ball 20+ times (32 times rushing last week). Hall is just as good catching the ball as he is running the ball. Connor is on a Cardinals team that is looking really good on the offensive side of the ball and Connor is a big reason why.
Bootay Favor: WRs... Adams and Rice are seeing a lot of balls thrown their way and if you didn't know Adams catches everything that hits his hands - just check out his toe-tapper in week 2. Demarcus Robinson is going to be the X-factor. The Rams are now down Kupp and Puka and Robinson is the expected next man up. If he can get to 15 points, this matchup leans heavily in favor of Bootay.

Predicktion: Bootay Pirates
Mystery Guest: Ankle Holster

MAYEday (0-2) v Pendulous TD's (2-0)

Upset ensuing?
Matchup to Watch: TE's... MAYE is going with the double stack TE matchup... Likely and Engram. Likely is going to be hit or miss... but when he is good, he is really good. Engram is a top 5 TE when healthy, the issue is that he will be week-to-week for about 4 weeks. On the flip side, LaPorta was the consensus top-tier TE at the start of the season. He has yet to live up to that potential, which means he is due. LaPorta has a great matchup against the Cardinals - who are notoriously weak in the middle. If LaPorta doesn't have a big week this week, it could spell trouble for the season.
MAYE Favor: Big Plays... outside of Mahomes (who is pretty consistent), there are a lot of players that could make big time plays. Chase and Moore both had 3+ weeks where they score 30+ points last season. Swift had huge weeks last season as well, but the team switch has not gone well for him. On top of that, Likely is a boom-or-bust TE. If there are a few big plays for this side, this matchup could get out of hand quickly.
Pendulous Favor: Matchups... most of the matchups for Pendulous' players are in favor - whether ESPN knows it or not. Nabers has a tough matchup against Cleveland, but after that it is smooth sailing. LaPorta has a good matchup (Cardinals), JSN has Mia, and Mayers has a weak Carolina team. There could be plenty of decent points scored solely because the matchups are in favor of the players.

Predicktion: Pendulous TD's
Mystery Guest: MAYEday

Love Hurts (1-1) v The J-Bones 2.0 (2-0)

Belt versus former Belt Fairy
Matchup to Watch: Kamara v Williams... Kamara is turning back the clock and looking like his old self with Brees at QB. Carr is looking good and he knows where his big-time players are - which mostly Kamara. Williams should get the ball plenty, especially with Kupp and Puka out. Williams is a great player and as long as he doesn't get hurt - he should have a good week. The only issue... Pitt defense is arguably the best defense in the league.
Love Favor: Trends... MHJ is becoming the go to receiver in Zona, and for good reason. Yes, he finished with only 4 catches - the game was already put away and there was no need to continue to throw the ball downfield. Kittle is on a team that does not have CMC or possibly Deebo (at least will not be 100%), which leaves Aiyuk and Kittle. The Rams are soft in the secondary which should allow Kittle and Aiyuk to have big days. Williams in the same boat, playing on a team that has lost 2 playmakers only leaves more opportunity for him.
J-Bones 2.0 Favor: The Deadly Duo... Barkley and Kamara form the best RB duo, would have been the trio if Pacheco did not get hurt. Barkley is a key player for Philly and he saw 25+ touches last week. Kamara was already addressed earlier - but he is currently the best RB in fantasy and for good reason. It helps that he already has 5 touchdowns in two weeks (that pace will not hold up), but he is also getting plenty of touches - 20+ touches each week.

Predicktion: The J-Bones 2.0
Mystery Guest: Love Hurts

Ertz when Eifert (2-0) v Cleveland Streamers (1-1)

Will the farter continue the hot start?
Matchup to Watch: WR Battle... In one corner, we have JJ/DK/Zay and in the other corner we CeeDee/Evans/London. It is quite an interesting battle between 6 different WR1's for their respective teams. If Jefferson is healthy, Ertz's side looks extremely strong - however, if there is any type of snap restriction on him... you have to go with Streamers. Flowers and Lamb will be playing in the same game and it looks like there are not many options for either team to throw the ball towards. London caught the game winner last week - will that carry over?
Ertz Favor: Depth... outside of the TE position, most positional players are primed to have a decent week. Let's say two, maybe three, can score 20+ - the depth on the rest of the roster should help scored plenty of points. If Mixon and JJ are able to play in their game (same game), that will be the game to watch - with two offenses that are moving the ball well.
Streamers Favor: Pass-Catchers... it is a common theme with this team. Until things change - it will probably continue to be a common theme. If this team wants to win, it needs to happen with hands that catch the ball. There is a good chance that 80% of the points scored this week come from Lamb/Evans/McBride/London - if three guys can find the endzone and crack 20+ points, I like this sides chances.

Predicktion: Cleveland Streamers
Mystery Guest: Ertz when Eifert

Cocaine Cowboys (0-2) v PEN15 Wrinkle (1-1)

One win (lucky matchup) aways from a cellar dweller battle...
Matchup to Watch: Jackson v Hill/Andrews... Lamar Jackson has not looked like himself when it comes to throwing the ball. Given, that was never his strong suit - but something needs to change for him to help Baltimore secure their first win. However, that change would involve looking Andrews way a little more. Hill and Andrews make-up 2 of the 3 big playmakers for Baltimore. Even though it is 1 v 2... if Hill and Andrews can keep this matchup close, it is a big win for Wrinkle.
Cocaine Favor: Injuries... I am not talking about injuries to their players, but touch competitors. Spears is questionable coming into this week... Leaves more touches for Pollard. ARSB is questionable... more touches for Gibbs and Jamo. AJ Brown is questionable, leaves more touches for Devonta. Plus, who the hell knows what is happening with Clevelands backfield.
Wrinkle Favor: WR Separation... Pickens/Olave/Wilson all are in the top 5 of wide receiver separation. In fact, Pickens has had 150 yards and touchdown called back for penalties. The NYJets have yet to really hit their stride, but Wilson has seen the most targets in the first two years of play. One would think Rodgers will begin to keep that trend going. Olave is playing on the hottest team in the NFL right now and Kamara can't keep this up. Eventually, New Orleans will have to throw the ball in the 4Q - that just means Olave is going to get looks.

Predicktion: Cocaine Cowboys
Mystery Guest: Cocaine Cowboys

As always, I wish all of you good luck - except for you Connor's Stalions... may your entire roster be forced to watch a WNBA game filled with layups, dribbling, passing, and more layups.

With Love
Commish
