Week 10 Predictions

We are nearing the point in the season where we can start to mathematically eliminate teams! Who isn't excited about that?!? Who doesn't love the point of the season when every single movement that a team makes is scrutinized and thought about a little bit more. Much like the trade that was recently made in our league....

The J-Bones trades Leveon Bell
Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood trades Cooper Kupp and Matt Brieda

Now, on paper the names look slightly lopsided, a player who has yet to play a snap this season for a top wide receiver and decent running back. However, remember Bell is reportedly in Pittsburgh and is awaiting the perfect time to check-in with the Steelers - ideally before next Tuesday. If he doesn't check-in Mr. Rodgers just traded away two possible starters for nothing. If he does check-in Mr. Rodgers will be hoping that the Steelers will give Bell a chance to show what he can do.

The J-Bones coincidentally also have James Conner and is hoping that the Steelers freeze out Bell. I look at this trade and I think that this is a high risk for Mr. Rodgers (but it could pay-off) and a safe bet for The J-Bones. The J-Bones have turned a player that was sitting on his bench the entire season into a starting wide receiver and suitable replacement (if needed).

Both teams needed to make the trade in order to compete in the playoffs - although neither team is guaranteed a spot just yet!

With 8 teams making the playoffs in a 14 team league, that means 6 teams are currently on the outside looking in. Here is how it stands prior to week 10...

Playoff Bound
1. Hernandez Hit Men (8-1)
2. White Condomints (8-1)
3. Steady Diet (8-1)
4. Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood (6-3)
5. Hoosier Daddy (5-4)
6. I AM STUPID (5-4)
7. The Trashmen (4-5)
8. The J-Bones (4-5)

Outside Looking In
9. Prible is my B*tch (4-5)
10. UrBlogIsWeak SucItAtkins (3-6)
11. Team Dez Nuts (3-6)
12. Mike McCarthy is Gay (2-7)
13. Col. Erran Morad (2-7)
14. Sagging TD's (1-8)

With four weeks left, we can already assume that the top three teams are locked into the playoffs. However, everyone else is facing a very important stretch of games. One team (Sagging TD's) is already eliminated based upon the future matchups and their inability to win enough games to catch a top 8 spot - which also means that as commissioner, I will not allow any trades to take place with Sagging TD's. Everyone else - good luck, this is a huge week for you...

White Condomints (8-1) v UrBlogIsWeak SucItAtkins (3-6)

I have nothing to say about this team - UrBlogIsWeak. Even the name makes me sick...

Prediction: White Condomints.... UrTeamIsWeak SucItMounsey!

The J-Bones (4-5) v Col. Erran Morad (2-7)

The J-Bones are currently the last team in the playoffs - which makes this week even more important. The trade that was made involving Bell - is highly in The J-Bones favor this week.

Cooper Kupp is the player that will solidify the lineup this week. This is now a lineup that has a chance to score the highest total this week. As long as the Steelers select to give Conner the ball, and not split carries with Bell - this team will have three running backs that are dominating the touches out of their respective backfields. Along with the running backs, Kupp and Allen are both the number one receiver on their respective teams. Look out Bluffton Bombshells, here comes The J-Bones.

Col. Erran Morad - after this week you will join Sagging TD's, it was good season! Or was it?

Prediction: The J-Bones

Prible is my B*tch (4-5) v Sagging TD's (1-8)

As stated earlier in this post, one of these teams is on the outside and unable to get in - the next best thing? Playing spoiler.

The difficult part is that PIMB has no backup quarterback or defense to replace the bye week positions. There are not many options on the waiver wire for PIMB to pickup for his quarterback - which makes this a tremendously difficult position to cover. This is a near must win week for PIMB and the loss of a reliable quarterback is a hit that might be the final straw.

Sagging TD's has a shaky lineup, but a tremendous quarterback. Isn't that ironic? The team needing a quarterback is going against a team that is already eliminated but has a terrific quarterback. Nonetheless, the rest of the lineup for Sagging TD's is too inconsistent to compete against the likes of both Jones and Beckham.

Prediction: Prible is my B*tch

Team Dez Nuts (3-6) v Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood (6-3)

This is a must win for Team Dez Nuts if he doesn't want to be pushed to the brink - he wouldn't be completely eliminated, but it would take a miracle.

Mr. Rodgers made a big trade this week - giving away Cooper Kupp and Matt Brieda, for a player that more than likely won't play this week. However, his lineup doesn't look like it took that much of a hit. K. Johnson, J. White, and S. Barkley make up a terrific running back department with D. Jackson and D. Amendola at wide receiver. His receivers are not the most consistent, but with the running backs carrying the team they don't need to do much.

Team Dez Nuts welcomes back A. Luck, D. Moncrief, and A. Vinny. It is going to take a big week from Luck, Kelce, and JuJu - with a good week from the supporting cast if Dez Nuts wants to compete. This matchup will be closer than what people may think and honestly, the last time I picked Team Dez Nuts' opponent to win, he won - so here is another gift....

Prediction: Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood

The Trashmen (4-5) v Hoosier Daddy (5-4)

Both these teams are hovering right around the cut-line, which makes this a very important week for both teams.

The Trashmen need a big week from M. Ryan and D. Adams as they both have great matchups. This is needed in order to make up for the lack of running back production - no one expecting a lot from Riddick or Mr. Dick. If The Trashmen lose this week, they will not be mathematically eliminated - but it will be an uphill battle.

Hoosier Daddy is currently inside the cutline, but a loss could be detrimental to their standing. Luckily, they have Gurley as a running back. Josh Gordon also has become the number one receiver for Brady - which is great for Hoosier Daddy. I have to think that one the receivers (Gordon, Evans, Fitzgerald) will have a good week to compliment Gurley. Look for Hoosier Daddy to rely on his studs to solidify his playoff position.

Prediction: Hoosier Daddy

Mike McCarthy is Gay (2-7) v I AM STUPID (5-4)

MMIG is desperately going to miss Thielen, his replacement would be Cobb - which is suitable, but still no Thielen. This is a must win for MMIG and "want" to win for STUPID.

Brady and Edelman will be a sneaky stack against a week Tennessee  defense. Lewis and Cooks could both have big games and it is needed for MMIG. The real deciding factor for MMIG is going to be Cobb - luckily G. Allison is out for the season, which opens up targets for Cobb. The more I look at MMIG's lineup, the more I can convince myself that this week is looking good for him!

Michael Thomas exploded last week for 39.1 points - don't expect that same performance again. However, Thomas could easily have a good week against Cincinnati, a game that could easily turn into a shootout. Kenny G. struggled last week to find any space and it will only be harder this week against a tough Chicago defense. D. Johnson is going against the Chiefs - there should be plenty of opportunity for him.

I liked MMIG's lineup, but on second glance...

Prediction: I AM STUPID

Matchup of the Week
Steady Diet (8-1) v Hernandez Hit Men (8-1)

Holy SH*T! What a matchup we have here! Two top teams that are matched up and this late in the season - this will have enormous implications on the regular season victor.

QB - Newton v Mahomes
This is a terrific battle between two quarterbacks that are superstars in their offense. This week Newton will go against Pittsburgh in a TNF game that should supply plenty of fireworks. The only downside would be that the game is on Thursday - even though there is a high chance that this game should be a shootout. On the other hand, Mahomes has been on a record pace and Arizona shouldn't possess any type of roadblock. Advantage Mahomes

RB - Kamara/Ekeler v McCaffrey/Chubb
Kamara is a beast for New Orleans. However, as good as Kamara - Ekeler is just as shaky. McCaffrey is apart of that fantastic TNF match and should supply a huge start to the week. Chubb is much safer than Ekeler in terms of consistency. This is an extremely close matchup and the slightest of slight advantages goes to McCaffrey/Chubb.

WR - Hill/Beasley v Tate/Landry
As good as HHM's team is, the trade of Tate really hurt his wide receiver department. Not to mention that the other receiver is a Cleveland Brown. However, Ty-Freak Hill has the possibility of exploding every single week. There is no denying that the loss of AJ Green is felt, and the question will be whether or not Beasley can fill those shoes. As for this week, the advantage is Hill/Beasley - solely because of Hill and his ability.

TE - Gronk v Ebron
Gronk is not the tight end that he once was, but he still once of Brady's top dogs. When Gronk is healthy, which seldom - he is one of the toughest players to matchup with. Ebron was a beast at the tight end position when Jack Doyle was sidelined - but now he is back. This forces both tight ends to be very touchdown dependent - which is never a safe play. Advantage Gronk - if healthy.

FLEX - Funchess v Gordon
Uhhhhh.... do I even need to say anything?

DST/K - Redskins/Prater v Steelers/Maher
Yet again, another coin flip. With so many matchups so close - there is no wonder both of these teams are at the top of the league. The advantage goes to Redskins/Prater - as Washington's defense is slightly tougher and the Steelers game could turn into a shootout on TNF.

Each time I look at the matchups I only see one distinct advantage - Gordon over Funchess. Because of this...

Prediction: Hernandez Hit Men
