Week 6 Pred-ICKY-tions

Hey everybody, I finally made a trade! Last year, I am pretty sure I made a total of 250 trades (slight exaggeration). Which means one of two things.....

A) My trades that I send are actually not that good and everybody is learning that they should not trade with me.

B) My team is probably not that good and nobody wants my players.

I like to think that the issue is not my team. Even though I am 1-4, my starting lineup consists of players that are all in the top 20 - when my players are not on a bye. Which means the trades that I send out must not be that good.

I am okay with that. I mean, why would I send out a trade that bad for me? Obviously, I send out trades that I would want. The difficult part is - most people only see what they are giving up and not what they are getting in return.

The true fantasy guru himself, Matthew Berry, once wrote an article stating that no player on your team should ever off limits. You should always be willing to trade anyone at any time - for the right price.

Soooo, you have one of the Steelers "Killer B's" - then you can definitely pick-up a few players that could fill some holes in your teams. You are then going to create a more consistent team across the board, rather than rely on one player to score 30+ points every week. Fantasy Football is all about consistency - either you have it or you are hoping for a big week from a few players.

I think that it would be fun to join a league that making a trade every single week is mandatory. Now, hear me out....

Each week you have a match-up between two teams. Each week you needed to perform a trade between the two teams. If you do not perform a trade, you both are given a loss for the week. Trust me, there are plenty of ways around trading players that you want to keep, for example....

A) You could trade defenses or kickers

B) You could both trade players that will never leave the bench

C) You could perform two trades - one trade with the original swap and one trade with the swap back

The real question would be, who is going to be that guy that says - "I am not doing any of those fake trades. We are going to make a real trade or we both take the loss."

Yes, there would be some loses given out because someone refused to make a trade. Yes, there would be plenty of angry people and lots of name calling. Yes, it would be much funnier to everyone else than the people caught in that situation. But, isn't that what Fantasy Football is all about - enjoyment?

Okay, so it is definitely a league in progress and probably needs a little work around some of the details. However, it would definitely encourage people to stay active in the league. Either you are active or you get a loss - and who doesn't want to be a league where people are more active?

You know what else would keep people more active.... no waiver wire! Hell, I am in last place and I still don't want a waiver wire! But that is for another time, blog, or group text to argue - now time for the pred-ICKY-tions....

Waco Kids (3-2) v Juan Fatt Bidge (1-4)

What a good matchup we have h.... oh, wait a second - McCoy is on a bye week and doesn't get to face-off against Gurley? Is he scared (he should be)? Baldwin is on a bye week as well? But, don't worry Waco Kids is also missing players due to the bye week.... THE 4TH RANKED KICKER HIMSELF HAUSCHKA! Let us not forget.... THE SEAHAWKS DEFENSE!!! To be fair, Waco is also missing Witten, who has been holding down the flex position all season long.

Who would have thought that Waco Kids would be starting Watson over Brees in week 6 of the season? Yes, there is time and we could see a switch before game time - but, Watson is playing the Browns at home - hmmmmmm, decisions, decisions.... what are you gonna do Waco?

Even with McCoy on a bye the running backs don't look too bad for JFB. In a recent trade JFB picked up Hyde and Wallace. If last week was a fluke, and let's hope it was, Hyde could play a big role this week. JFB really needs the running back matchup to stay close enough that the rest of his lineup can hopefully pick up the slack.

I am not going to talk about the receiver department - we all know where I stand with Waco Kid's receivers.

Now, it would be a shame, a d*mn shame - if I didn't mention Walker. During the draft someone pronounced that Walker would be the number tight end by week 6. Well, buddy - he is 30 points down from Ertz and it is not looking good! However, this week could be a huge week for Walker and the difference in tight ends could be even bigger if Kelce is unable to bounce back from that concussion. Although something tells me he has lost his memory more than a few times in his life - maybe from football, maybe from partying, who knows?

Update: There was a trade made while the writing of this post took place. Please jump down to Aaron Rogers is GAY v Team Price is a Dick for the trade that was made.

Here is the new lineup....

With the addition of Bell - we at least have the matchup of two stud running backs: Bell v Gurley. However, the loss of Walker and the Jags defense does hurt Juan Fatt Bidge. They will now be scrambling for a tight end from week to week - not really sure if Hunter Henry is the long term answer and we all know the Pats defense is not the long term answer!

Still, this is almost a must win matchup for Juan Fatt Bidge. Bell will need to show up and make the trade worthwhile. Heres to hoping....

Pred-ICKY-tion: Juan Fatt Bidge wins by 3 points - I flipped a coin and it landed on Juan Fatt Bidge

John Robles (2-3) v I Miss Tyler (2-3)

Soooooooooo, this is a tough one to really figure out. One one team you have his entire starting lineup from last week, which scored 131 points. One the other team you have two guys that are on the bye, combined they scored 44 points. Not entirely fair, don't you think?

To be completely honest, I am really tempted to pick I Miss Tyler - but that would be incredibly dumb. On his bench he has three players that he could throw in there: Andre Ellington, Wendell Smallwood, or Martavis Bryant. Looks someone might need to pick someone up or make a trade!

One of the main reasons I am tempted to pick I Miss Tyler is because I still don't trust Funchess and Dickson on the same team - not to mention they are playing on a Thursday game! However, Murray is running against Indianapolis who managed to let Brieda slash and dash through them. Fournette has a tough matchup, but when you are waving at defenders to come and hit you - who cares who you play!

It is subtle, but it is there. This is only one highlight from an entire season's worth of highlights Fournette had last week. Why is that Steelers so happy about tackling Fournette? Does he know that Fournette had 181 yards and 2 touchdowns?

Tough matchup or not, at least he is playing and not on a bye week....

Pred-ICKY-tions: John Robles wins by 15 points

Certified "G" (2-3) v Sagging TD's (3-2)

This is a rough matchup for Certified "G" and a great matchup for Sagging TD's. Remember when everybody wanted Tarik Cohen? He hasn't broken 10 points the past 2 weeks and is now facing a Ravens defense in Baltimore - good luck! At least he won't be the lowest scoring running back in this matchup - Gallman is facing the Broncos in Denver! HAH! Once again, Sagging TD's running backs actually look good - how does that keep happening?

The strong point for Sagging is and always has been his receivers. Brown and Diggs will win this matchup for Sagging TD's.

Maybe this time Certified will watch the injury report and inactive and make a change if needed - if not, Certified "G" will cease to exist.

Pred-ICKY-tion: Sagging TD's wins by 18 points - just make sure you check your inactive Certified!

Aaron Rodgers is GAY (2-3) v Team Price is a Dick (3-2)

Sooooo, in the middle of writing this post there were some big changes that have shaken up a few rosters. I wanted to give everyone a look at what the original lineup of TPIAD was before the trade took place. You can all voice your opinions on the trade, but it was.....

TPIAD trades Le'veon Bell

Juan Fatt Bidge trades Carlos Hyde, Doug Baldwin, Delanie Walker, Jags defense

The new matchup is....

As I stated earlier in this blog post, consistency throughout the lineup is key. Many people would say that trading Bell was a bad decision - but the improvements throughout every other position in the lineup is undeniable. Hyde could be a top 5 back, and he was the first couple weeks, so the drop-off is not that big.

Walker is an obvious improvement over Cook. Considering Walker gets to play Indianapolis twice, Cleveland, and a now banged up Texans defense.

Jaguars defense has become a must start defense. Can we all please remember what just happened in Pittsburgh, yes in Pittsburgh?

He also has Baldwin on the bench. Last season, the Seahawks receiver tired it on and became a top 5 receiver the last 4 weeks. Looks like someone is set-up for the future!

For this specific matchup - it looks like Evans needs to have a big week for this to be close. Once again, I don't trust the running backs for ARIG. ARIG is also grasping for straws with Goff at his quarterback - but he may score better Taylor did last week. The waiting game for Luck to return could not be more frustrating for ARIG.

Pred-ICKY-tion: Team Price is a Dick wins by 22 points

Sergio Dippsh*ts (2-3) v Mizuno Blue (3-2)

This is an intriguing matchup. There are plenty of story lines to be had: Will Big Ben bounce back? Can Melvin Gordon continue to be the top running back he has been? Is Murray or McKinnon the replacement to Cook? Can Cutler actually throw the ball to his receivers? Is Allen or Collins the lead back in Baltimore? Can Seferian-Jenkins grab another touchdown?

These questions and more to be answered on the next episode of Fantasy Files.

Here is my prediction to those questions (in their respective order):

Yes, Chiefs will still win - but Big Ben will have a decent game.

Yes, Gordon is THE man for the Chargers.

My money is on McKinnon to be the lead back. He is a much better receiving back.

Cutler will struggle to throw the ball but Landry will get his 10-15 points. Although the days of 13 receptions are probably long gone.

I think Allen is in line to take the bigger share of the touches, but it will still be a committee. However, Allen is clearly the receiving back in Baltimore.

No, Seferian-Jenkins will score a touchdown this week.

Do these questions help predict this matchup - no, not all - but it will be fun to see how many I got right!

Pred-ICKY-tion: Sergio Dippsh*ts wins by 5 points

BringBack Harbs (3-2) v Hoosier Daddy (2-3)

I don't care what the records say. Hoosier Daddy is the better team here.... and it is not close!

Stafford v Cousins: Cousins, but this is really a coin flip. Both have good match-ups and both have decent offenses. I am taking Cousins because Washington's receiving corps is better than Detroit.

Lynch and Stewart v Anderson and Hunt: Obvious. I feel insulted that I would even need to answer this question. In fact, I am not going to answer and I am just going to leave it up to you decide - don't pick wrong!

Cooks and Benjamin v Hopkins and Hogan: Close, but not really close, but kind of close, but not really close. I would pick Hopkins and Hogan, solely because of Hopkins. Cooks has the potential to score big points - but I would take Hopkins over virtually anyone at this point!!

Ertz v Brate: Ertz. There are just too many weapons surrounding Brate and not enough football to go around. Ertz is currently the number 1 tight end. I think he has this one in the bag.

Normally, I would ignore the kickers and defense - but the past couple weeks some kickers and defenses have put up some big points. If I had to pick up one of the four - I would put my money on the Ravens defense. They have a good matchup and their is a good chance they are the leading scorer of the four.

Pred-ICKY-tion: Hoosier Daddy wins by 17 points..... the answer is Anderson and Hunt!!

Matchup of the Week
Dakster's Lab (4-1) v The J-Bones (3-2)

This is the Matchup of the Week - why? Dakster scored the most points last week, is in 1st place and is apart of the only matchup that features two teams above .500.

The J-Bones look ready to go - they have both their running backs in the starting lineup again and my favorite player to watch. If you have read any of my previous posts you already know who that might be. I might need to make a change to the scoring, as I proposed last week, an extra touchdown per peace sign - all in favor?

Howard and Miller are two good running backs - but are they Freeman and Montgomery good? I would take Montgomery and Freeman over Howard and Miller, if Montgomery was healthy. However, with the rib issue and Jones running strong - I might take Howard and Miller.

When it comes to receivers I would take Hill and Thielen over Adams and Amendola. Maybe I am biased (my obvious man crush for Hill), or maybe it is because I think the Patriots will be ahead early and may run the ball often.

Can Fleener and Snead share the ball? Yes, especially because they play for the Saints and let's be honest - they are going to throw ball. I am not sure Brees knows how to hand the ball off - does he even need to know how to do that?

This is a close matchup between these two: running backs are close, wide receivers are close, tight ends are close, flex is close, - it is just a close matchup. But hey, that is why it is the matchup of the week...

Pred-ICKY-tion: J-Bones wins by 2 points.... Good money is on Freeman and Montgomery

Well, we will at least get to see how the biggest trade of the season worked out for both teams. Should be interesting!!
