The other funny part about the NFL is how it is different every single season...
Who would have guessed the Patriots would be 2-2 and the Bills would be 3-1 and leading that division?
Who would have guessed the Rams would be leading their division?
Who would have guessed the Dolphins would somehow have only managed to score 25 points throughout the season to this point? Seriously, 25 points?!? The second lowest team has scored nearly 3 times that amount.
Fantasy Football can be very similar.
For example, in my current league the 2nd and 3rd highest scoring teams are both 1-3.
The team that had scored the high points throughout the first two weeks couldn't even break 90 points the next two weeks.
A team that was 0-3, and struggled to break 100 points all season long - just scored 148 points and beat one of the last undefeated teams.
Which does bring me to the results....
Juan Fatt Bidge (1-3) 102.4
Team Price is a Dick (2-2) 115.8
This was an incredibly frustrating matchup. To think that had T.Y. Hilton and Doug Baldwin just put up half the points they scored last week this matchup would have gone the other way. Instead, Alex Smith decided to have a 32 yard rushing touchdown - yeah, that happens every week... pause... pause... NOT!!! Are those jokes still cool?
It is pretty amazing to me that TPIAD scored 115 points with their defense scoring -5 and two other players not even breaking 3 points. I guess when the studs show up and score some big points - you are good to go.
So, here I am to say this.... Congratulations TPIAD, I am not salty at all and I sure you know exactly every player on your team!
Prediction: Juan Fatt Bidge wins by 15 points.... WRONG
Sergio Dippsh*ts (2-2)
Aaron Rodgers is GAY (2-2)
So with this matchup I went through and picked whether each position was an "advantage" for the respective team.
QBs - I said advantage was for Sergio - but who would have thought that Big Ben would only score 10 points against Baltimore's defense. Remember, this is the same defense that the Jags scored 44 points against. Good win Tyrod Taylor!
RBs - I said advantage for Sergio - somehow this was still correct. Even with Cook going down mid-game and Gordon dealing a bone bruise - yet they still beat the great duo of Gillislee and Gore. Eventually, those two had to have a drop-off.
WRs - This was a much closer matchup than I originally thought. I said that Mike Evans is the superior receiver and I still 100% believe that. I guess Michael Thomas like the air in London a little bit better. Maybe, it is cleaner?
TEs - I said advantage Sergio. I was correct. Surprised? Not really. I mean, Zach Miller does have the highly coveted quarterback of Mike Glennon throwing the ball. Hey Chicago, just a thought, maybe you start the guy that drafted 2nd overall?
DEF/K - I said advantage Sergio. However, I can not take credit for this one - who would have guessed that a kicker would be the high scorer for the matchup? Not only that, but Zuerlein also would have beaten 7 other team's top scorers!! Let's hear it for the kicker!!!!!
Prediction: Sergio Dippsh*ts wins by 10 points... RIGHT
Dakster's Lab (3-1) 64
Waco Kids (2-2) 123.2
I don't want to say that I pretty much called this matchup - but I did pretty much call this matchup. I mean for Waco Kids - Gurley had a great game. He is a stud. Kelce and Witten completely outperformed Rudolph and Watkins (flex).
But we can always take it a step further, Waco Kids team did almost exactly what I thought they would do. I am tempted to throw in the video of Dennis Green going on his tyrant again - but I will save you the trouble. His wide receivers are awful. Just terribly bad. Somebody in this league save this man and make a trade with him. I am just telling you, talking to you Waco Kids, you need to get some receivers or you will make the playoffs and then lose when they let you down - again.
Prediction: Waco Kids wins by 23 points... RIGHT
BringBack Harbs 102.3
Certified "G" 95.4
I know I talked so highly of Stafford and then BringBack played Wilson. Probably a smart decision, considering he was playing the Colts defense. However, if you watched the game Indy had controlled Wilson the entire first half - and then Pagano started to coach and Wilson exploded offensively. BringBack is definitely going to struggle in the receiver department if Julio Jones' injury is lasting. Cooks will always be decent, but more of a boom or bust guy because you just never know the way New England's offense is going to play.
On the flip side, Mixon really looked like he was ready to just explode. Guess not. Cohen has cooled off from his hot start and now Carson is on injured reserve. I think there is a little trouble in paradise. I remember when I wanted to trade him for some of these players (like last Friday) - thank you fantasy Gods for smiling upon me!!!
Prediction: BringBack Harbs wins by 3 points... RIGHT
The J-Bones (3-1) 85.9
I Miss Tyler (1-3) 148.1
I told you so.
Once again, I told you so.
No wait - maybe you didn't hear me, I told you so.
In fact I don't even want to write anything - I just want to enjoy this moment.
Prediction: I Miss Tyler wins by 5 points... RIGHT
Hoosier Daddy (1-3) 112.2
John Robles (1-3) 132.8
I am beginning to think that is just a big joke. Actually, I am just waiting for my turn to play Hoosier Daddy so that my team can have their turn of just tearing it up. Every single time Hoosier Daddy plays someone they always score really well. Like, obscenely really well. Like Devin Funchess scores two touchdowns really well. The Panthers as a whole could not move the ball the entire season and then John Robles start Funchess, Devin f*cking Funchess, and he scores 26 points.
John Robles had 4 players break 20 points. Sounds normal right? Except two of those players play for two terrible offenses. Except that John Robles didn't even start one of them last week. I guess he is just Miss Cleo - or it just didn't matter who he put in, they were going to score points because he was playing Hoosier Daddy.
I really do feel bad for you buddy. Want to get some ice cream later?
Prediction: Hoosier Daddy wins by 59.8 points... WRONG
Matchup of the Week
Mizuno Blue (3-1) 100.1
Sagging TD's (3-1) 93.4
This week, the last of the "unbeatens" has fallen. When The J-Bones and Sagging TD's both lost, there where no more.
This is the case of consistency beats studs and duds. With a very consistent score coming from every player Mizuno Blue beat out Sagging TD's - who had a good game from Rodgers and duds from nearly everybody else. Don't get me wrong, Diggs and Parker both helped - but how about a little more support boys?!?
Hyde and White performed well. Pryor performed well. Even Landry performed well for where he was (London). I can't believe I am about to type this.... that random Jets tight end - didn't do half bad.
If I had to call out one player that really blew this pick for me it would have to be Antonio Brown. Seriously, 7.4 points? You should be able to score that with one catch. You my friend, you are the one that lost this matchup.
Prediction: Sagging TD's wins by 22 points.... WRONG
This Week: 4-3
Season: 14-14
Competitor: 2-5
Season: 12-16
Clearly, this is the point in the season when I start to pull away from my mystery competitor.
